NEET is a test introduced by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India and Medical Council of India (MCI). NEET will be conducted by CBSE and it has been introduced for
(a) Undergraduate (PMT-UG) Medical courses like MBBS, BDS etc.
(b) Post graduate (PMT-PG) Medical courses like MS, MD etc.
PMT-UG will be a common entrance test for MBBS course across the country for 355 Government and Private Medical Colleges / Universities with 43,740 seats and 300 Dental Colleges with 3085 seats.
The qualifying criterion in PMT will be 50 percentile to ensure that no seat remains unfilled. Eligibility Criterion :

Student must pass Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English subjects individually.
Age Criterion : The candidate must be minimum 17 years at the time of admission.
No. of attempts : A candidate can be allowed a maximum of 3 attempts.
Examination Pattern : No. of questions = 180 (60 each in Physics, Chemistry & Biology)
Time allotted = 3 hours
Three will be no negative marking.
Rank of PMT & its usage :• A candidate will be given a national rank and a state rank in PMT.
• 15% of total seats of the affiliated MBBS Colleges in India will be filled through national ranks and rest will be filled through state ranks (the state from where the candidate has done his/her 12th or holds a domicile).
